Two Day Beginners Woodturning Class

Two Day Beginners Woodturning Class Friday 9th and Saturday 10th October. The Class consists of;

Day 1 – Spindle Turning

Learning the workings of a lathe

Health and Safety talk

Detailed learning of the three cuts of woodturning, bead, cove and straight cut.

Learners use the three cuts to make a garden dibber

Learn how to mount timber using a chuck and make a spinning top from this

Use the cuts learned over the day to make stem for candle holder.

Day 2 – Face Plate Turning

Learners will make base for candle holder.

Learners learn the process of roughing out a bowl from wet timber.

Learners make and finish small bowl from dry timber.

All learners are encouraged to ask questions and each learner has a lathe and tools supplied for the two days.

Course starts each morning at 10am and finishes at 4pm to 4.30pm. Our next two day class is on October 9th and 10th.
